BRITZONE SPEAKING CLUB STATUTE AND BY LAW
ARTICLE I Name
The name of this organization shall be BRITZONE SPEAKING CLUB @ LIBRARY SENAYAN or can be sorted as BRITZONE.
ARTICLE II Purpose
Section 1. The purpose of BRITZONE SPEAKING CLUB @ LIBRARY SENAYAN is to: Encourage its members to be able to communicate in English.
Section 2. The specific goals of BRITZONE SPEAKING CLUB @ LIBRARY SENAYAN are to: A. Having two regular sessions weekly so the member can practice their English fluency. B. As a meeting ground for a variety of people that has the passion on English language. C. Each member will have the confidence to speak in English in public. D. Collaborate with elements outside Britzone to widen and enrich the Knowledge of Britzone member.
ARTICLE III Membership
Membership shall be open for all, regardless of the personal background. Each member must have a good will toward the organization.
ARTICLE IV Dues and Finance
Section 1. No payment is enforced to each member, but donation is welcome.
Section 2. The fiscal year of this organization shall be in concurrence with the election of the new president.
ARTICLE V Officers and Elections
Section 1. Officers. The elected officers of this organization shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Section 2. Qualifications for Office. A. Only currently enrolled active members are eligible to hold office. B. Officers must maintain a regular attendance of weekly session.
Section 3. Elections. A. The President is elected by members voting. B. The most voted candidate will be elected as the new President. If the most voted candidates are more than one, the votes will be enacted until one candidate has the most voted than the others. C. The committee’s Officers appointment is solely the right of the elected President. D. The new president election rules will be discussed in the member meeting before each election taken place, votes will be required if no consensus reached on that meeting.
Section 4. Term of Office. Officers shall be elected for one year or until their successors are elected or appointed, and their term of office shall begin once the committee structure is introduced in the member meeting.
Section 5. Vacancy in Office. A vacancy in any office, other than that of President, shall be filled by appointment by the President. Should the office of President become vacant, the Vice-President shall automatically become President.
ARTICLE VI Duties of Officers
Section 1. The President shall: A. Serve as Chairman of the Committee, B. Appoint appropriate committees and committee-section leaders, C. Serve as an ex-officio, nonvoting member of all committees, D. Perform other duties for the promotion and development of the organization. E. Create additional tasks as necessary for the Committees outside mentioned in section 2, 3, and 4.
Section 2. The Program division shall: A. Take charge of the regular weekly Britzone sessions, this is including the attendees report, conductor appointment, pre and post session handling, and B. Take charge of other Britzone related session as appointed by the President. Section 3. The Secretary shall: A. Keep all records related to the organization, This is included the members information, and documentaries related to the Britzone. B. Maintaining the community communication Medias.
Section 4. The Treasurer shall: A. Keep an accurate record of expenses and disbursements, B. Present a financial report in committee meeting, and C. Present an annual financial report to membership. D. Looking for ways to maintain and increase the financial health through.
Section 5. The officers shall: A. Advise the President of the orderly conduct as the President in accordance with the Organization Bylaws and any special laws that is in effect.
Section 6. These officers shall serve on the Committee, perform the duties prescribed in these Bylaws, and perform such other duties as are directed by the organization president not inconsistent with these Bylaws or special laws in effect.
ARTICLE VII Committee
Section 1. The Elected Officers of this organization, along with the President shall constitute the Committee.
Section 2. Duties. The Committee shall: A. Adopt policies of operation for the organization, B. Approve appointments by the President to fill vacancies in office, C. Review all proposed amendments to the Bylaws, D. Present to the general membership, with recommendations, proposed amendments to the bylaws, and E. Perform such other duties as are prescribed by these Bylaws.
Section 3. Meetings. Meetings shall be called by the President, or upon the written request of three section leaders of the Committee.
Section 4. Quorum. The quorum for all organization meetings shall be a majority of the members of the Committee.
ARTICLE VIII Amendment
Proposed amendments to these bylaws shall be submitted in writing. The proposed amendments shall be submitted for review to the Committee, which will present the proposal along with its recommendation to the general membership. A two thirds vote of the general membership present shall be necessary for adoption of any bylaw amendment.
CERTIFICATION
These bylaws were approved at a general member meeting by a consensus on February 28, 2009.
